Clean Meats from a Family You Can Trust

Hi, I'm Chad Cook. Along with my wife Natalie and our three daughters, we raise grass-finished beef here in Fordland, Missouri - the same beef we serve our own family every night.

Our cattle live their entire lives on rotational pastures, never seeing feedlots, chemicals, or shortcuts. Because when you live on the same farm, drink from the same well, and play in the same pastures as your cattle, every decision matters.

Meet the Family Behind Your Meats

We’re Chad and Natalie Cook, and with our three daughters, we raise some of the cleanest beef in Missouri. Green Hill Cattle Co. began because we wanted to know exactly where our family’s food came from. What started with a few T-posts from Facebook Marketplace and a handful of cattle has grown into a farm we’re truly proud of.

What hasn’t changed is our commitment. We still live on this land, drink from the same well our cattle drink from, and hold every package of beef to the same high standards we set for our own dinner table. When your children play in the same pastures where your cattle graze, every decision matters.

General Questions

How much freezer space do I need?

Our packages are designed for real families with real freezers:

  • Family Starter (25-30 lbs): 1-2 cubic feet (large freezer drawer)
  • Family Value (50-60 lbs): 3-4 cubic feet (half of a chest freezer)
  • Family Stock-Up (85-100 lbs): 6-8 cubic feet (most of a chest freezer)

We're happy to help you figure out what works for your space.

How long will the beef last?

When properly stored at 0°F or below, vacuum-sealed beef maintains premium quality for 12-18 months. Most families use their packages within 4-6 months.

Can I customize my package?

Absolutely! Want more ground beef for quick weeknight meals? Prefer extra steaks for grilling season? We'll work with you to create a package that matches how your family actually cooks.

What's the difference between grass-fed and grass-finished?

Great question! "Grass-fed" can mean cattle ate grass at some point but may have been finished on grain in feedlots. "Grass-finished" means they ate grass their entire lives - which is what ours do. No feedlots, no grain finishing, just pasture from birth to processing.

How does ordering work?

Simple! Contact Chad directly by email or phone to discuss your package preferences. He'll help you customize your order, explain the timeline (usually 2-3 weeks), and arrange pickup or delivery.

Do I need to pay upfront?

Nope! We don't ask for money until your beef is ready for pickup. We'll contact you when it's ready, and you pay when you pick up or receive delivery.

Can you deliver?

Yes! We offer free delivery within 15 miles of our farm in Fordland, Missouri. For 16-30 miles, there's a $25 delivery fee. For longer distances, we can arrange special delivery for larger orders.

What if I don't like a certain cut?

We've never had this happen because we work with you to customize your package, but we stand behind our beef 100%. If there's ever an issue with quality or if a cut doesn't meet your expectations, we'll make it right.

What do your cattle eat?

Grass! Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. They spend their lives on rotational pastures eating what cattle are supposed to eat - grass and nothing else. We occasionally use alfalfa pellets to help move them to fresh pasture, but no grain, no corn, no feedlot finishing.

Do you use antibiotics or hormones?

Never. Our cattle are raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, or chemical treatments of any kind. Healthy cattle raised properly don't need these interventions.

How do you ensure the beef is safe?

All our beef is processed at a USDA-inspected facility that follows strict food safety protocols. The beef is then dry-aged for enhanced flavor and tenderness, vacuum-sealed for freshness, and clearly labeled for easy identification.
